Melbourne Cycling Festival – October 2010

This event is a celebration of all things related to cycling, just like racing, commuting or recreation and anything fun in between. 

Melbourne Cycling festival is a 5-day celebration, held from October 13 – October 17 in partnership with the City of Melbourne and Bicycle Victoria. Overall, the celebration ties the National Ride to Work Day (October 13th) and the HBA Around the Bay in a Day (October 17th) with the Go Bike Expo.

The Ride to Work Day is held annually, in 2009 an estimated 125,000 people joined Ride to Work Day Australia. Be one of the people to cycle to work and breakfast at the Federation Square in Melbourne CBD. If you are in Sydney you should check out the Ride to Work Day in Sydney

The HBA Around the Bay in a Day is another cycle event that promotes a healthy lifestyle, and at the same time help raise funds for The Smith Family’s programs helping to support disadvantaged children. HBA Around the Bay in a Day event is on its 18th year. It started in 1993 with 2500 participants that continuously grow. In 2009 the participants were estimated at 15,000.   • October 16 – Bank SA Wine & Food Festival. This is another spectacular event to commend on the banks of the Murray River. This is the event for wine, foods, beers, live entertainment and more fun. Make this your Saturday event on Oct 16 between 11am to 7pm at The Berri Picturesque Riverfront. Cost of this event is only $20 per adult includes custom wine glass, free water, transport & live entertainment.
